High Priest

An office of responsibility in the Melchizedek Priesthood. Worthy male Church members are designated as high priests when they are called to a stake presidency, high council or bishopric or when otherwise determined by the stake president. Many Mormon men are high priests and receive no formal training for this position.

Each stake has one high priests quorum, consisting of only those high priests currently serving in the stake presidency, in bishoprics, on the high council, and as functioning patriarchs. The stake presidency is the presidency of that quorum.
