Light the World 'Giving Machine' Launches for the First Time in Bangkok

Landmark Installation in Thailand to Bring Proven Global Aid Model to the Region, Guaranteeing 100% of Contributions Go Directly to NGOs

A global movement in charitable giving will arrive in Thailand on 29 November 2025, as Light the World Giving Machine initiative comes to Siam Paragon’s NEXTOPIA. Making its Southeast Asia debut, the interactive installation will let visitors donate essential items through a vending-machine-style experience. Sponsored by The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, which covers all operational costs, the initiative ensures 100% of every donation goes directly to vetted beneficiary charities.

Giving Machine kiosks, bespoke vending machines that dispenses essential items and services for local and global charities, are poised to elevate Thailand's position in global innovative philanthropy.

The Bangkok debut will allow visitors to purchase specific, tangible items for beneficiary charities. Crucially, 100% of the funds go directly to the charities to fulfill the needs showcased on the machine.

The beneficiary charities of the Bangkok Giving Machines include:

  • Charity Foundation for the Blind in Thailand
  • iCare Foundation
  • Sikkha Asia Foundation
  • Rotary International District 3350

"The Thai people are well-known globally for their generosity and compassion," said Elder Natthapol Lattisophonkul, Area Seventy of the Church in Thailand. "We are thrilled to bring the Giving Machine to Bangkok, providing a unique and highly transparent way for individuals and families to engage in the pure joy of service, knowing that every single contribution will directly uplift our communities,"

“By coming alongside iCare’s initiatives—supporting food supply bags for flood victims, bus fares for underprivileged students, and essential supplies for single caregivers—this program will provide timely aid to those in greatest need," said Michael Andreassen, Director, iCare Thailand Foundation. "We are grateful for this project and looks forward to making a meaningful difference for those in need because of it!”

Since its inception in 2017, the Giving Machine initiative has evolved into a proven model of successful and engaging charity. To date, the project has successfully raised nearly US$50 million worldwide, funding thousands of high-impact initiatives, including clean water, vital medical supplies, agricultural training, and educational resources. Its popularity underscores its effectiveness, with the initiative attracting over 850,000 visitors in 2024 alone across various international locations.

Light the World Giving Machine Bangkok will launch from 29 November through 29 December this year at Siam Paragon’s NEXTOPIA.
